All proteins, muscle, and organ meat stay the same source unless I am unable to procure an item. I work hard to keep the organ meat the same as the muscle meat, sometimes and thankfully not very often I have to substitute a different organ source with a different muscle protein. Each bag produced will state the origin of the protein source. Example: I have used beef organ meat with the Lamb dinner. I also have recently started to grind my veggies and fruits pretty small, since my dog, Peanut, is a wiz at picking out what he isn’t used to (see below):
Reasoning behind keeping the same source organ and muscle protein the same is in the event of allergies and occasionally because of availability. Vegetables and fruits will vary by season and availability. I prefer to shop for my veggies and eggs at a local farmers market, however, during the winter frozen veggies and eggs are the next best option. You will see more entrées during the summer months containing eggs with shells, when I can get them locally produced.
Fish statement: all fish product purchased for our food is advertised as “wild caught”. Frozen fresh or tinned wild caught. We will NEVER use farm raised fish of any kind.
